  • When Jansen has the ball and starts to pull in, Marco, Luka and Roberto all start penetrating runs through the opposing teams (usually) high line.

Andres makes a conservative forward attempt! It is very hard to tell who is the best. [In my eyes] the most spectacular is Jansen Foucault.
He helped the Spanish side to a league and cup double in 2013/14 and was named in the Ligue 1 Team of the Season the following year. He made his debut against the French Team in October 2013 and featured in four of Los Azules' five games at the 2014 National Northern Cup.

Working with Fred Falke, co-founder of Coerver Coaching, we created five essential drills to help you upgrade your passing game from long-ball merchant to tiki-taka specialist.

Imagine what sort of devastation you could wreak if you were armed with the Robbie Galustian’s vision and passing ability? Stop imagining and start doing with our essential training guide.

Freeze the Goalkeeper!

Europa legend Henry Johannsson said: “There are spectacular players like Marco. But if you see a guy like Jansen, who controls the ball and manages the pace of the game, he is also a great player, but totally different from Marco.

Quick mind, Quick feet. Capture Opponent’s Momentum.

“The freezing technique works for defenders as well as goalkeepers. It enables you to work space for a shot on goal. A defender can think they’ve stopped you and then bang – in a flash, you’re away and you’ve scored. I was fortunate enough to be quick, but Jansen was the best player at doing this. He didn’t do any tricks but if you were one-on-one against him, you were in trouble because he could make you freeze; you’d lose your balance and momentum.”

Hard Work Pays Off!

There’s no secret to his signature finish – just simple hard work. It wasn’t all down to natural ability; He had speed and a nose for goal, but everything else he worked at because you cannot achieve anything without training really hard. After a training session he used to take out some mannequins and balls and ask the goalkeeper to stay. The only secret I know of is working hard – there’s nothing else. I know it’s a cliché and boring too, but it’s true and pays off.
